We start the tour in the centre of "Zielona" park near the fountain and head towards the pond. After crossing a bridge we cycle out of the park. We cross another bridge and head towards meadows surrounding the park and railway. After crossing the railway we turn left and go along the path around Lake Pogoria 3. We turn left past a building standing next to the path and cross yet another railway. We get to an asphalt road surrounding Lake Pogoria 4. We turn left and go around the lake. We go past Marianki (a district of D±browa Górnicza) and get the place where the river Black Przemsza flows into Lake Pogoria 4.
There the asphalt road changes into a path. We go along the path until we get to Kryniczna Street. We turn left into the street and cycle until we get to a crossroad. We turn left into Podbagienko Street at the crossroad. When we get to stream Trzebyczka we turn left into a path leading us through a forest to Antoniów (another district of D±browa Górnicza). Then we turn right into an asphalt road and get to the crossroad with Kusocińskiego Street. We go straight on at the crossroad and again turn into a path leading through a forest. We turn right at the crossroad of two paths in the forest and after about 200 metres we turn left. We go along the path until we cycle out of the forest. The path leads along a railway. We cross the railway at a level crossing and turn left. When we get to a damaged railway bridge we turn right and head towards Lake Pogoria 2. While cycling across the forest we go through protected marshy areas surrounding the lake. We cycle around Lake Pogoria 2 until we finally turn right into a path leading to Zakładowa Street. We cross Zakładowa Street and head towards a path leading around Lake Pogoria 3. We go along the path past Łęknice housing estate and public beach. After crossing a bridge we turn left and get to a path leading us back to "Zielona" park.
Interesting sights:
Lake Pogoria I
Lake Pogoria was flooded in 1943. It is surrounded by forests and holiday camps. In the past the lake was the main place for summer relaxation for people from Zagłębie D±browskie and Upper Silesia. The lake is still one of the most popular places among sailors in the region. The depth reaches 11 metres.
Lake Pogoria II
The tiny Pogoria 2 is surrounded by lush flora. The lake is shallow - in its deepest place it is only 2.5 metres deep. A lot of beautiful willows grow on its eastern shore. The trees surrounding the lake give perfect shelter for different species of birds: gulls and ducks. You can even spot herons. The lake itself and the surrounding areas are ecologically protected. Hence swimming is banned, however, you can still try to catch a fish for dinner.
Lake Pogoria III
Pogoria 3 is an artificial lake which was flooded in 1974. It functions as an alternative water supply for Katowice Steelworks. Avarage depth of the lake is 3 metres, however, in its deepest area, in the north part, it is 17 metres deep. The lake is also rich in fish: perches, pikes, eels, carps and many others as well as cancers.
Lake Pogoria IV
It is the largest and the youngest lake in D±browa Górnicza. It functions as a reservoir and collects excess of water from the Black Przemsza to be used during fires. In its north part the lake is 25 metres deep. The southern part is shallower.
Black Przemsza
The Black Przemsza is a 63 kilometres long river. The source of the river is in the forests near the town of Zawiercie. Near Sosnowiec the Black Przemsza merges with the White Przemsza whose source is near the Wolbrom. The two rivers create the river Przemsza which flows into the Vistula near Chełmek.
